Job Description


:Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of engine lubricants for the automotive and other industries. As part of their growth strategy, they have established a new trading entity in Malaysia, identified as a key market for expansion. To support this initiative, we are partnering with them to recruit a Finance Manager based in Puchong, Malaysia.Reporting directly to the Country Manager and functionally to the CFO based in Singapore, this role will be pivotal in overseeing the planning, reporting, and communication of financial forecasts, results, and strategic plans. The Finance Manager will lead the preparation of the companyxe2x80x99s annual budget and quarterly forecast submissions, while also defining processes and implementing internal controls to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements.ResponsibilitiesAccounting

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting to Management and HQ.
  • Provide insightful financial analyses of the key variancexe2x80x99s vs budget and last yearxe2x80x99s performances in terms of sales, gross margin, costs and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyse the financial performance of distributors (month-on-month variances, year-on-year variances, quarter-on-quarter variances, budget vs actual).
  • Review tax matters.
  • Provide business support to the Sales and Marketing team, highlighting potential credit risk, tax exposure, cross border remittance issues and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivables collection from distributors to ensure overdue are minimised and timely collections are made to achieve optimised cash flow management.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Select and implement local ERP system with the support of the HQ Finance and IT team.
  • Implement e-invoicing for the two subsidiaries and ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for the implementation of the relevant business process and management reporting according to the HQ requirements.
Budgeting/Forecasting
  • Manage the preparation of the annual companyxe2x80x99s budget and quarterly forecast submissions to ensure there is sufficient stretch to achieve group target.
Internal Controls
  • Define processes and internal controls and ensure compliance to statutory requirements, company policies and procedures and alignment with HQ guidelines.
Finance Operations/Reporting/Business Analysis
  • Maintain and be accountable for the financial health of the Company.
  • Serve as an aspiring partner to GM on any financial analyses related to investment, business development activities, credit management and efficiency streams.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the companyxe2x80x99s actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Proactive to provide financial support to ensure costs control, financial risk management and adequate business decision in company major projects.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Liaise with external parties (e.g. external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities) where required, and be accountable for any tax related matters.
Corporate Secretary and Legal
  • Liaise with corporate secretary vendors to ensure full compliance on all tax, accounting and statutory related matter.
  • Review legal contracts with the support of local legal advisors.
  • Be accountable for brand protection matters when applicable with the support of the HQ legal counsel.
Requirements
  • A Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, with 6 to 8 years of proven experience in accounting and financial analysis. CPA or ACCA certification is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations, with the ability to ensure full compliance.
  • Proficiency in finance software; experience with SAP S4 Hana is an advantage for future implementation. Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Fluent in both English and Malay, with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a local context.
