POSITION TITLE: FINANCE MANAGER (Controllership in SPMY)

SUMMARY OF ROLE

To be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, establish and maintain internal controls, procedures, and guidelines for reviewing transactions that comply with GAAP and MFRS, and ensure financial records remain accurate while meeting reporting deadlines. Direct and coordinate the daily activities of the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of Accounting and Tax activities including financial reporting tax filing and year-end audit preparation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Review monthly finance reports, including monthly journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and etc.
-Ensure compliance with the accounting standard, SOX, policies and procedures, and mitigate potential risks and improve efficiency and accuracy.
-Review the statutory filing, business statistics and other statutory reports to ensure compliance with local government regulations and timelines.
-Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and forecasts within the stipulated deadlines.
-Review quarterly transfer pricing calculation and forecast for the bridge of US GAAP and local statutory
-Review the Tax filing returns, monthly GST, SST, WHT and related schedules to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia.
-Monitor the Company's Tax Incentive application and compliance with Government Officials.
-Oversee Cost accounting and inventory-related activities not limited to standard cost review, inventory movement process, inventory reserves, variances capitalization and physical inventory.
-Oversee account receivables and treasury-related activities not limited to intercompany collection, trade loan drawdown and repayment, reporting to the Central Bank of Malaysia.
-Perform Finance ad-hoc duties as assigned.
-Manage and provide guidance to Finance team members.
-Complies at all times the Environment, Health and Safety and Quality standards, rules and regulations

RELATED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

-Degree in Accountancy or ACCA
-Minimum of 8 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
-Possesses good analytical and interpersonal skills
-Sound knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
-Analytical with good problem-solving skills and be result-oriented
-Good interpersonal and effective communication skills
-A task-oriented person who can take pressure and adapt to a new environment. Operating knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle)
-Good working knowledge of MS Office application particularly Excel and Word
