Nature and aim of the position
The holder of this position reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for the accounting, tax, SOX, and internal reporting for the Global Blues (GB) operations. The responsibility is primarily for the Australian entity. There may be new entities added to the scope as GBs business expands.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing including journal preparation and trend analysis
- Responsible for group reporting from local GL to HFM and quarterly group reporting package
- Prepare SOX control workpapers for controls in scope
- Assist with the tax compliance for Australia including the preparation of the tax calculations and schedules
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Assist with the annual audit and statutory accounts
- Assist with budget, SOX and tax testing
- Support projects and initiatives benefitting the operations
- Any other ad-hoc requests as required
- Degree in Finance or Accounting and currently hold a professional accounting qualification
- Prior MNC experience is essential (experience working for Australian and / or US listed company is desirable).
- Background in audit or previous employment in one of the Big Four is an advantage
- Ideally have prior experience on SOX, SAP and HFM
- Australian tax knowledge is favourable
- Excellent written and verbal communication (English fluency is a must)
