The Financial Controller oversees and strengthens the Group's financial operations across Initia outlets in Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring accurate reporting, budget control, and strong internal governance. This role also plays a key supporting function in fundraising--preparing investor financials, due diligence packages, and financial models to support the Group's expansion plans in both countries.
The Financial Controller ensures financial discipline and readiness as the Group continues to scale the business.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Preparation & Investor Support
Develop investor-ready financial statements, projections, and outlet performance models.
Prepare due-diligence documents: financial history, P&L breakdown per outlet, expansion feasibility, cash flow forecasts.
Support CEO during investor meetings, providing data-driven responses.
Coordinate with advisors (legal, audit, corporate finance) during fundraising rounds.
Analyse valuation benchmarks for lifestyle/F&B/hospitality sectors.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
Manage full sets of accounts across all outlets.
Produce timely consolidated group reports across Singapore & Malaysia.
Ensure accuracy in multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation.
Prepare reports for investors, management, and potential funders.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Outlet-Level Financials
Lead the annual budgeting process for all outlets and new store openings.
Perform monthly variance analysis and highlight financial risks/issues.
Build outlet-level profitability models (labour %, rental %, product cost %, service profitability).
Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital
Forecast short-term and long-term cash flow requirements to support expansion.
Monitor working capital cycles, AR/AP management, vendor payments, deposit tracking for new store setups.
Maintain strong banking relationships.
Financial Controls & Compliance
Strengthen internal control systems, especially for multi-outlet cash handling and inventory.
Oversee tax, GST/SST, corporate filings, and statutory compliance.
Ensure readiness for investor audits or financial scrutiny.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with Operations & HR to maintain financial discipline across outlets.
Support CEO with investor decks, board documents, and fundraising presentations.
Provide financial training to outlet managers to improve cost control.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting/Finance; ACCA/CPA preferred.
8-10 years relevant experience, ideally in retail/hospitality/F&B/lifestyle.
Experience preparing financials for fundraising or due diligence.
Strong consolidation, modelling, and analytical abilities.
Able to manage fast-paced multi-outlet, multi-country operations.
