JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Manage the day-today activities of the Controller\'s group, control the company\'s financial resources and ensure that all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards. Activities may include financial analysis and reporting, taxation, insurance, credit control, treasury functions, accounts payable and receivable, inventory and cost controls, budgeting and forecasting.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the company\'s book of accounts (General Ledger, Subsidiary Ledgers etc). Ensure the integrity of the books by complying with generally accepted accounting principles in Malaysia and the US, as well as with specific Abbott accounting standards.
• Prepare/submit all annual and monthly financial reports as required by local and corporate management as well as in compliance with statutory reporting requirements. Internal reports, should include variance explanations as well as accounts analyses that will help management understand better the results of operations.
• Develop/implement internal control procedures. Make sure that affiliate is in compliance with all internal control guidelines from Corporate
• Manage local taxation requirements that affect the company. Keep abreast of developments that may have an impact on the company.
• Liaise with both Internal and External auditors. Ensure that the conduct of internal and external audits are properly coordinated with local management and that all audit issues are cleared and implemented

• Support Division Heads for new business development and contract management (entering into new business relationships/contracts)
• Support Class A Accreditation and sustain as per the PAA Class A Implementation Milestones

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Financial/Accounting tertiary qualification \xe2\x80\x93 essential
• Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant, ideally big 4 trained

Experience/Background

• Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in finance/accounting at a senior level with evident success. Strong technical exposure to US GAAP and local statutory requirement.
• Good knowledge of computer based programs including spreadsheets and graphics.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and to complete objectives utilizing the commitment and cooperation of others.
• Excellent leadership and organizational capabilities.
• Self motivated with the energy and ability to take the initiative on relevant issues.Ability to work successfully within a matrix organization and negotiate and prioritize requirements with management, both regional and domestic.
