Responsibilities for firewall engineer

• Managing upgrades, patches and certificates

• Planning activities, communicating status and preparing reports

• Performs system-level design, configuration, integration and implementation of perimeter security products to include firewalls, email security appliances, proxy devices, switches, and routers

• Develops engineering orders and change requests for senior management decision that describe detailed configuration changes to the enterprise perimeter

• Troubleshoot perimeter security devices in conjunction with vendor provided support

• Directs compilation of records and reports concerning perimeter operations and maintenance

• Perform configuration, and installation of replacement perimeter devices

• Able to develop test plans and test cases, tools and infrastructure to improve quality and efficiency of perimeter security and defence

• Identify configuration or policy flaws and gaps that increase risk or violate information security requirements

• Able to perform firewall rules review and identify the risk based on current rules

• Know how to read firewall rules and analysis logs

• Good understanding of network routing and firewall policies

• CCSE (Checkpoint Certified System Engineer)

• Experience in troubleshooting a broad range of network security technologies

• Knowledge of database administration, programming, and systems analysis procedures.

• 4+ years of experience working with networks and complex IT infrastructure

• Strong experience managing and troubleshooting complex network, firewall and security products (Cisco, Juniper ).

• Certificates from well-known network and firewall vendors are a plus.

• Hands-on experience of Cisco routers and switches

• Good knowledge in TCP/IP and able to read network packet

• Good knowledge in network routing and IP subnets

• Strong understanding of Cloud computing within the financial industry.
