For this role, we are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable oil and gas company operating in Malaysia. The

Fitter

position is crucial to ensuring precision in fabrication work, preparing structures for welding, and supporting large-scale project execution. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in fitting and assembly who are ready to contribute to high-quality fabrication projects.

Job Responsibilities

Read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings accurately. Cut, fit, and assemble structural and piping components prior to welding. Mark and measure materials for cutting, shaping, and fitting. Align, clamp, and secure workpieces in preparation for welding. Fit-up joints, plates, and pipes according to project requirements. Collaborate closely with welders, markers, supervisors, and foremen. Ensure all tasks are carried out in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in fitting work within the fabrication or oil & gas industry. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings. Skilled in handling basic fitting tools and equipment. Good teamwork, communication, and task reporting to supervisors/foremen. Strong focus on safety and accuracy in work execution.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

Experience working on offshore or oil & gas projects. Knowledge of international fabrication and welding standards. Certification in related technical fields (e.g., welding, fitting). Ability to handle both structural and piping assembly work. Familiarity with quality inspection requirements in fabrication.

What We Offer
