Job Description


Job Summary The successful candidate will support the Financial Markets (FM) Country Business Manager (BM) and the FM Country Head (who also double hats as FM Head ASEAN ex. SG and FM ASEAN Corporate Sales Head) in managing and running the FM business in-country and supporting relevant initiative for the ASEAN region Responsibilities Execute and implement the relevant FM strategy and business initiatives Execution and delivery of the global FM agenda locally / regionally Partner with local support functions and stakeholders to unblock any business issues Be the \'connector\' between global and local and export / import best practices Support the FM Country Head in running of the Business Risk Forums (BRFs) Operate effective supervision of FM, Treasury Markets, Middle Office and Wealth Management Product Sales (CMPS) staff in the dealing room, where applicable Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks in-country Execute controls, monitor, report and escalate operational risks where appropriate in-country Ensure dealing room staff adhere to internal and external processes and procedures, and governance practices set out by the FM Process Governance Committees Support the FM Country Head in coordinating in-country audits Continuously seek out process simplification and re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency Keep up to date with local regulations to assess impact / business opportunities and manage any changes to business processes and infrastructure Provide business support on dealing room management, e.g. capacity planning, business continuity, access controls, Service Level Agreements, licensing, etc Ensure that the FM related regulatory submissions are accurate, complete, reconciled (where relevant) and specific to the requirements Key stakeholders FM Malaysia FM COO Our Ideal Candidate Knowledge of the Financial Markets business and products Strong analytical and presentation skills with an ability to understand / dissect complex problems Collaborative problem solver focusing on outcomes Comfortable working in a relatively unstructured, and multi-dimensional environment Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to clearly articulate ideas, issues and solutions Excellent project management skills Good attention to detail Excellent financial and performance management capability, including balance sheet management Strong risk, conduct & control background Strong Excel, and PowerPoint skills About Standard Chartered We\'re an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
