Job Description


The Food and Beverage Room Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and seamless operation of the room service department within a hotel, resort, or hospitality establishment. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure the delivery of exceptional service to guests and to maintain high standards of quality and presentation. :

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of room service staff, including servers, runners, and order takers. Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and conduct regular evaluations to maintain a high level of service.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of guest orders, both in-room dining and take-out orders. Ensure that the ordering process is smooth and that guests receive their desired meals promptly.
  • Maintain strict quality control standards to guarantee that food and beverages are prepared, plated, and presented according to the hotel\'s guidelines. Ensure that all dishes are served at the appropriate temperature and in a visually appealing manner.
  • Interact with guests to take orders, address any concerns or special requests, and ensure a positive dining experience. Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues that arise promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and procurement team to ensure an adequate supply of food, beverages, and other related items. Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Organise training sessions for staff to enhance their skills, product knowledge, and service etiquette. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the room service department.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as the kitchen, front office, and housekeeping, to ensure smooth coordination of operations, particularly during peak hours and busy periods.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, inventory, and guest feedback. Prepare regular reports for management to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
