• Analyzes software applications in terms of equipment/application requirements and capabilities.
• Writes new programs and analyzes, reviews, and rewrites existing programs to solve problems, increase operating efficiency, or adapt to new requirements.
• Prepares test data. Corrects program errors.
• Documents the methods and procedures used in developing, testing, and correcting programs.
• Assists in designing programs and systems architecture; preparing program specifications; coding, testing, and debugging computer programs.

Requirements * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Experience in FORTRAN is required.
• Proven experience as a Fortran developer or in a similar role.
• Atleast 10 years of experience in relevant field or similar role.
• Strong understanding and proficiency in Fortran programming.
• Experience with scientific and engineering computing applications.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting Fortran applications.
• Experience with code optimization and refactoring for performance improvements.
• Competence in conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Ability to perform unit testing and validate code changes effectively.
• Familiarity with integrating Fortran applications with other software systems.
• Solid understanding of modern computing environments and migration processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Strong documentation skills for code and development processes.
• Ability to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Fortran and scientific computing.
