Job Summary



The Forwarding Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end import and export operations, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, managing cost efficiency, and driving continuous process improvement. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government authorities to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance, while minimizing delays and ensuring smooth logistics flow. The position also includes budget control, documentation management, customer service, and contribution to strategic solutions for client requirements.

Key Responsibilities



1. Import & Export Operations



Oversee the entire import and export process, including the preparation and submission of all required documentation such as customs declarations, commercial invoices, and shipping documents. Coordinate and ensure the timely clearance and movement of goods across borders in accordance with trade requirements and timelines.

2. Regulatory Compliance



Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all customs laws, import/export regulations, and international trade policies. Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations, including classification of goods, duty and tax assessments, and licensing or permit requirements.

3. Stakeholder Coordination



Serve as the main liaison with customs authorities, port officials, government agencies, and relevant stakeholders to resolve clearance issues and ensure regulatory compliance. Support clients by interpreting customs policies and providing expert guidance on procedures, duties, and documentation requirements.

4. Internal & External Collaboration



Work closely with internal shipping, logistics, and warehousing teams to facilitate efficient transportation and clearance of goods. Provide necessary documents to carriers, monitor shipment status, and ensure seamless coordination throughout the supply chain.

5. Documentation & Record-Keeping



Ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized documentation for all import/export transactions, including customs declarations, bills of lading, invoices, and other compliance records. Maintain and archive customs files in accordance with internal policies and audit standards.

6. Process Improvement & Cost Analysis



Identify opportunities for process optimization to reduce delays, improve efficiency, and control costs related to customs handling. Support the preparation of tenders, quotations, and client proposals by offering insights on customs-related requirements and cost components.

7. Reporting & Administration



Prepare and submit regular reports including daily operation summaries, closing reports, and performance metrics within the specified timelines. Investigate discrepancies or documentation errors, liaise with relevant authorities to resolve them, and escalate issues to management when needed.

8. Customer Service



Deliver professional and responsive customer service to clients and partners by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and providing ongoing support throughout the customs process.

9. Compliance & Audit Participation



Ensure adherence to HR and ISO 9001 standards and participate in internal or external audits as required. Uphold and enforce company policies and quality procedures across all forwarding functions.

10. Ad-Hoc Responsibilities



Undertake additional tasks or projects assigned by management, including involvement in strategic planning and execution of operational initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
