The Design & Tools team within Centralized Managed Support Operations (CMSO) delivers service design and technology solutions that enable Motorola Solutions support teams to meet customer expectations.
This role focuses on building and improving the CMSO Career Path Tool. Approximately
80% of the role is hands-on development

20% focused on product strategy, user feedback, and business alignment
.
Responsibilities
Engineering & Development (Approximately 80%)
Design, code, and deploy the CMSO Career Path Tool with a responsive and intuitive user experience
Build interactive UI components such as progression trees and competency graphs
Implement full stack solutions including frontend, backend, database schema, and APIs
Develop and maintain REST APIs that power the frontend application
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented client-side and server-side code
Test applications for functionality, performance, and security
Use version control and follow CI/CD principles throughout the development lifecycle
Analysis & Strategy (Approximately 20%)
Collaborate with product managers and designers to define and implement new features
Work with senior developers to troubleshoot and debug issues
Conduct user feedback sessions to identify usability issues and friction points
Translate business objectives into technical requirements
Help prioritize features based on value and impact
Analyze usage data and metrics to suggest improvements
Contribute to defining the future direction of Customer Care tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience as a full stack developer or similar role
Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end programming
Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Familiarity with backend technologies including Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java
Knowledge of common database systems
Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices
Experience using Git and version control systems
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage in detailed engineering discussions
Ability to balance technical and business perspectives
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Forward-thinking approach to building scalable solutions
Experience integrating AI tools into the development process
