General and Supply Chain Accounting Manager



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management

  • Manage the General Accounting team to and supervise the preparation and delivery of consolidated financial and management reporting activities across Asia Pacific in order to ensure and facilitate timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with the relevant reporting standards such as local and US GAAP.
  • Lead, empower and provide guidance to the team on financial reporting expertise, business knowledge and structured problem-solving capabilities to assure sound analysis, recommendations, and action to be taken to deliver on all Corporate Finance related activities.
2. Regional Reporting
  • Lead and manage the compilation, submission, and reporting of financial results, budgets, forecasts, and other reporting schedules for Asia Pacific affiliates in accordance with US GAAP to local, regional management and to Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
  • Coordinate, manage and engage with senior finance stakeholders in APAC whilst influencing change and ensuring the all necessary financial reporting deadlines adhered to by the respective countries in APAC.
3. Integrity of Statutory Financial Statements
  • Ensure a sound balance sheet reconciliation process is in place with the relevant teams in General Accounting and Cost Accounting with analysis carried out to provide a clear and articulate commentary for variances which require commentary.
  • Enhance the capabilities of the respective teams to improve on business acumen and greater insights into the activities in the markets to improve the quality of variance analysis and corresponding commentaries.
4. Process Development
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement to ensure end to end processes relating to general accounting and cost accounting are streamline and standardized to generate greater efficiency and productivity within the respective teams.
  • Lead to ensure all projects (e.g. blackline) that are currently in progress are implemented and delivered as per the agreed timelines and objectives by the respective teams such as the blackline implementation, integration of Softex RTR processes, implementation of the intercompany Centre of Excellence in APAC and other strategic business projects.
  • Coordinate and support all transformation initiatives to drive effective and efficient financial reporting via standardization of processes, reduced manual journal entries and a robust and efficient reconciliation framework.
  • Identify areas to enhance the GBS value proposition to countries in APAC via transformation initiatives above to support the growth and evolution of the organization as an efficient and value adding business partnering Centre of Excellence in APAC.
  • Leverage on insights and learnings from across other regions in K-C as well as industry best practices to further enhance existing processes.
5. Leading Transformation
  • Lead the development of process performance KPIs for General Accounting and Cost Accounting to proactively improve overall regional compliance to controls and enhance process performance.
  • Drive a business partnering mindset across the teams to generate and enhance commercial thinking through regular engagement with stakeholders in respective countries across APAC.
  • Ensure the proactive management of potential process issues and customer relationships with the relevant countries in APAC and empower to enhance the overall service delivery levels of the Record to Report team in APAC.
  • Simply and automate period close processes through automation and standardization to deliver on seamless month on month period closing through better integration and collaboration with local teams and GBS teams.
  • Support the Regional Controls team in embedding adequate operational controls and control KPIs across general accounting and cost accounting processes to enhance compliance and improve the overall effectiveness of controls.
4. Financial Reporting Systems and Procedures
  • Lead to ensure financial accounting systems are maintained in good working order and are developed to meet changing business requirements, and support and training is provided to finance end users
  • Lead the team to develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for the effective management and control of financial accounting processes and systems, ensuring they comply with the relevant accounting standards, Local, and Kimberly-Clark Corporation requirements.
  • Coordinate and support all transformation initiatives to drive effective financial reporting via standardization of processes, reduced manual journal entries and a robust and efficient reconciliation framework.
7. Talent Management & Leadership
  • Build a stable and sustainable talent pool and driving expertise in the respective subject matter while ensuring succession plans are in place across all levels in the team
  • Develop leadership capabilities of team leaders to enhance collaboration, strategic thinking, and talent development.
  • Be a team player with strong networking and interpersonal skills to build trust among other team members and stakeholders, both lateral and vertical, whilst positively instilling a 'transform to grow' mindset across the Record to Report organization.
  • Be a change champion by demonstrating out of the box thinking and challenging the status quo to enhance business process efficiency and drive growth opportunities for GBS and helping create high performing teams.
  • Develop an insights and foresights driven team to manage transformation effectively and proactively supported by data and analytics.
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Accounting and professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in general ledger/reporting and management reporting with at least 4 years team leadership experience
  • Experience in interpreting and implementing accounting standards
  • Experience in managing transitions and process improvement projects
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications including SAP and HFM.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills necessary to maintain a strong working relationship with senior management and other functions within KC
  • Good command of verbal and written English. Good command of any other Asian language would be an advantage.
