An exciting opportunity for a Head of Legal role with a leading plantations business.

As this role is essential to the organization, it is vital candidate comes with a track record of delivery and proven experience. Among the many responsibilities are listed below:

• Lead and drive the Legal department by providing timely, high quality and solutions-oriented legal advice/services to the Board, Management and Teams/Operating Units in line with Group policies and procedures to protect the interests of the Group and minimize legal risks and exposures.
• Manage Group and subsidiaries legal matters (including litigation), protect the legal interest and reputation taking into consideration the strategic and business needs in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Group. Indirectly, this facilitates the growth of the entire business overall.
• Monitoring, supervising, managing, and leading the Legal Department.
• Act as Legal adviser to subsidiaries to provide legal advisory, support and high-quality legal services on all business, operations, and projects/transactions undertaken, including management/monitoring of all legal disputes/claims (whether potential/threatened or actual).
• Provide full range of solutions-oriented legal services/support including coordinating, negotiating, preparing /reviewing documents and advising on projects/transactions to meet the commercial objectives of subsidiaries and advising on relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

The ideal Head of Legal will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company while possessing the below requirements;

• Bachelor\'s of Laws (LL.B) or higher qualifications.
• At least 15+ years of experience as a legal practitioner in a law firm or in-house counsel.
• Prior experience in the plantations, manufacturing or related industries would be preferred.
• Self-driven, energetic team player.
• Willing to travel frequently or relocate.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong persuasive abilities.
