The General Counsel is a key executive responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the organization. This senior leadership role involves providing strategic legal counsel to senior management and the board of directors, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and overseeing the organization\'s legal affairs. The General Counsel plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization\'s interests, guiding its legal strategy, and contributing to its overall success. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Legal Counsel: Provide continuous legal guidance and advice, particularly in the areas of contracts and regulatory compliance, to members of the business and legal teams on a wide range of technology-related, operational, compliance, and policy matters. Team Building: Establish and lead a compact, yet highly efficient legal team, both within the Group and local offices. Create a customer-centric approach that enhances the overall experience of doing business across multiple regions. Operational Governance: Develop and implement streamlined operational procedures, ideally using digital tools, to govern the daily activities of each entity. Ensure commercial terms are communicated effectively to stakeholders, correct signing processes are in place, and signatories have the necessary authority. Legal Best Practices: Safeguard and enhance the company\'s interests by overseeing IP, trademark, and brand protection. Implement best practices in commercial, legal, and labor matters across all entities. Seasonal Responsibilities Corporate Liaison: Collaborate on preparing corporate documents, papers, resolutions, and presentations for boards and shareholders of the Group and its subsidiaries, associates, and affiliates as required. Special Projects: Engage in projects related to industry opportunities as they arise. Competition Law and Litigation: Act as the focal point for providing advice on competition laws and litigation matters. Longer-Term Projects External Counsel Relationships: Establish a panel of responsive external counsel with relevant experience across markets and industry verticals. Business Partnership: Collaborate closely with the business in areas such as payments, M&A, finance, corporate transactions, corporate governance, capital markets, intellectual property, and regulatory considerations. Policy Advocacy: Support engagement efforts with policymakers and stakeholders in the region to advocate for the future of logistics and demonstrate benefits to SMEs and consumers. Strategic Support: Assist portfolio companies, investments, and partner ecosystems in anticipating future industry developments and shaping the industry\'s future. Qualification & Skills Required: Law degree from a reputable university. A member of the bar association in your preferred country. Minimum of ten (10) years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house working experience in a reputable law firm, with experience in aviation is a plus. Strong legal knowledge and technical proficiency. Experience in analyzing and advising on various legal issues related to B2B products, services, and technology platforms. Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills in English. Inquisitiveness and the ability to identify and address issues effectively. Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, even under pressure. A collaborative approach to working with both business and legal teams, with a knack for building relationships and credibility.
