One of the leading public listed conglomerate companies is seeking a General Manager (Offshore & Marine Fabrication) to be based in Sabah, Malaysia. The role sits within the senior management team (SMT) and is entrusted with overseeing the budget and profitability of the site. The primary responsibility lies in working hand in hand with customer to ensure on-time quality delivery.

About the General Manager (Offshore & Marine Fabrication) Role:
The General Manager (Offshore & Marine Fabrication) responsibilities encompass various areas, including safety, planning, production, quality, inventory management, and capital control. These KPIs serve as benchmarks to gauge the performance and the success of the fabrication operations under their leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full P&L including the planning, execution, and management of production plant, workshop, and yards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and overseeing day-to-day activities
• Develop and lead the operation, production, and yard teams to support the company\'s growth plan, coordinating internally and externally for successful project completions
• Be accountable for integrated fabrication yard operations and financial management, while also monitoring market activity for operations of yard, production workshop and water-front facilities
• Manage project construction, from planning to execution control, ensuring end-to-end delivery with high-quality results, safety and effective client management interface
• Maintain product assurance, quality, and safety, while meeting all customer requirements

The successful candidate must possess leadership quality to command a medium-sized fabrication facility with manpower exceeding 1,000 people. You must have prior leadership experience in leading as a general manager, project manager or equivalent for an offshore and marine fabrication yard.

Key Requirements:

• Preferred: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution, but not required
• 10 - 15 years of experience in fabrication plant and yard operations
• Demonstrated high delivery standards in quality assurance and HSE management
• Vast experience in offshore, marine, and oil & gas sectors, understanding operational mechanics for timely project delivery
• Skilled in managing and mentoring diverse teams, including overseas and local staff
• Effective communication with senior management, capable of articulating and defending recommendations
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong team player and leadership abilities
