We are looking for a competent and detail-oriented
Geologist
to join our project team. This position is suitable for candidates with
at least 3 years of hands-on experience
in geological works related to construction, infrastructure, or oil & gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing geological investigations, site assessments, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and supervise geological site investigations, soil and rock logging, and field sampling activities
Perform geological mapping, core logging, and interpretation of subsurface data
Monitor excavation, earthworks, slope stability, and ground conditions during construction activities
Review and verify soil, rock, and laboratory test results
Identify, assess, and report geological risks, adverse ground conditions, or potential hazards
Prepare and review geological reports, borehole logs, method statements, and technical documentation
Ensure geological works comply with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, and laboratory personnel on geology-related matters
Participate in site inspections, audits, and client or consultant walkthroughs
Support project planning by providing geological input and recommendations
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline
Minimum
3 years of relevant experience
in geological works, preferably in construction or oil & gas projects
Strong understanding of geological principles, soil mechanics, and rock classification systems
Familiarity with site investigation methods, borehole logging, and geological reporting
Knowledge of Malaysian standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements
Key Skills & Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and technical report-writing abilities
Willingness to travel and work at remote project locations
Capable of working independently and managing site-based responsibilities
Proficient in field investigation tools and basic geological software
Strong teamwork and coordination skills
Must possess or be able to obtain OGSP, CIDB Green Card, and other relevant certifications
Familiarity with Petronas Technical Standards (PTS), OGSP, and Malaysian codes of practice is a strong advantage
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
