Work you\'ll do

Global Technology Services works at the forefront of technology development and processes to support and protect Deloitte around the world. As the DBA Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for MS SQL Server installation, configuration, performance tuning, client/server connectivity, query optimization, back-up/recovery, running Database consistency checks using DBCC. For this role we will rely on your experience in implementing High Availability & Disaster Recovery solutions using Always ON, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping & DR activity like (using Always On technology, storage level DR activity, Using Log shipping and mirroring).

Role Responsibilities:

• Run Real Time in MS SQL 2019/2017/2016/2014/2012 with Microsoft SQL Server Azure cloud (IaaS and PaaS)
• Ensure Database Backup, Recovery and Disaster Recovery procedures
• Troubleshoot Database issues
• Maintain Database Authentication Modes, Creation of users, configuring permissions and Assigning roles to users
• Setup multi subnet failover cluster for SQL cluster and Always on AG
• Configure, setup and troubleshoot on SQL Clustering Active - Passive and Active- Active
• Troubleshoot issues like Always ON & Replication
• Analyze Performance, Query optimization and tuning
• Index Maintenance Index tuning, Rebuild Reorganizing according to Index fragmentation, running DBCC checks and Update Statistics to check Data Integrity
• Extensive use of tools like SQL Profiler (server-side trace), Index Tuning Wizard, Windows Performance
• Monitor, PSSDIAG Tool and Perfinsight tool for monitoring and tuning MS SQL Server performance.
• Azure Cloud Migration and Support: (SQL PaaS & IaaS)
• Monitor and modify Performance using execution plans and Index tuning
• Create Linked Servers between SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014 & Oracle 9i and 10g
• Tune and Optimize Transact - SQL Stored Procedures
• Use Performance Monitor/Profiler to solve Dead Locks/Long running queries
• Apply necessary SQL Server database service packs and windows patches
• High Availability Solutions including SQL Server Clustering, Replication, Mirroring & SQL Always ON
• Migrate & Upgrade of different SQL Servers
• Implement changes on production servers with the proper change management approach
• On-Call Support

Requirements

• Experience with MS SQL Server installation, configuration, performance tuning, client/server connectivity, query optimization, back-up/recovery, running Database consistency checks using DBCC
• Experience with Database Backup, Recovery and Disaster Recovery procedures
• Experience Troubleshooting Database issues
• Experience maintaining Database Authentication Modes, Creation of users, Configuring permissions and

• Experience creating Linked Servers between SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019 Oracle 9i and 10g
• Experience with Tuning and Optimization of Transact - SQL Stored Procedures
• Experience using Performance Monitor/Profiler to solve Dead Locks/Long running queries
• Experience applying necessary SQL Server database service packs and windows patches
• Experience with High Availability Solutions including SQL Server Clustering, Replication, Mirroring & SQL Always ON
• Experience migrating & upgrading of different versions of SQL Servers

Education:

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or Equivalent

Preferred:

• Master\'s Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or Equivalent
• Script (T-SQL, PowerShell)
• Certifications on SQL Server or MS Azure
