Summary Salary: Competitive Team: Graduates, Interns and Apprentices Location: Malaysia - Global Development Campus, Johor BahruAbout usWe are part of a global project team, working with various stakeholders within the company to design and develop new methodologies that enable verification of our product mechanical robustness across all categories by means of exploring the limits of the technology and optimising our solution.About the roleAs a Chemical or Material Engineer in Mechanical Robustness team, you will work closely with our Verification and Mechanical Test Development Team to support the evaluation of chemical properties, solutions, and compositions, and assess their impact on the robustness of plastic parts. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will participate in various stages of test development, data analysis, and reporting, contributing to the enhancement of product quality and performance.You will have the exciting opportunity to delve into the intricacies of material science, applying your knowledge to design and execute experiments aimed at unravelling the chemical mysteries of plastic part production. Utilizing a diverse array of analytical techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy, you will meticulously analyse material properties, seeking insights that will inform our testing protocols and procedures.Your days will be filled with hands-on experimentation, where you will conduct chemical analyses and mechanical tests on plastic parts, exploring their resilience under varying environmental conditions. With each test performed, you will meticulously gather data, anticipating the insights it will unveil and eagerly delving into its analysis. From these analyses, you will craft comprehensive reports, distilling complex findings into actionable recommendations that will drive our continuous improvement efforts.Collaboration will be key in this role, as you engage with cross-functional teams across Research, Development, Design, Quality Assurance, and Production. Your insights will serve as a bridge, ensuring alignment and integration of testing processes throughout our product development lifecycle. Join us to unlock personal and professional growth and ignite your career potential.About youWe are seeking candidates who are:Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in chemical engineering, material science, or a related field.Strong theoretical understanding of chemical principles, polymer science, and materials characterization techniques.Hands-on experience with laboratory experimentation, including chemical analysis methods and instrumentation.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using statistical tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel).Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information effectively.Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project priorities.Previous experience or coursework in polymer chemistry, materials engineering, or mechanical testing preferred but not essential.Familiarity with testing standards and protocols relevant to plastics and materials characterization (e.g., ASTM, ISO) beneficial but not necessary.Experience with modelling and simulation software for chemical processes and materials behaviour will be added advantage.Experience with mechanical testing methodologies and equipment is desirable.Working for usOur workforce is spread across various countries, each with its own unique regulations, cultural norms, and societal expectations.
