Job Summary

The Halal Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's halal compliance in accordance with JAKIM and other relevant halal authorities' guidelines. The role ensures that all processes, raw materials, suppliers, and documentation comply with halal requirements, and that the company's halal certification remains valid and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all raw materials, ingredients, suppliers, and processes comply with JAKIM's Halal certification standards. Prepare and maintain documentation required for Halal certification and renewal processes. Liaise with JAKIM and other relevant authorities for halal audits, inspections, and applications. Conduct internal halal audits and inspections at production sites or outlets. Establish and maintain the Halal Committee within the company. Provide halal awareness and training sessions for staff. Monitor and verify the halal status of suppliers and subcontractors. Manage non-compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current halal regulations, guidelines, and industry practices. Support the company's quality and food safety management systems.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Halal Management, Food Science, Islamic Studies, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in halal compliance, preferably in the F&B or manufacturing industry. Good knowledge of MS 1500:2019 (Halal Food - Production, Preparation, Handling, and Storage) and JAKIM procedures. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Able to liaise effectively with authorities, auditors, and internal teams.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

Certified Halal Executive or trained under JAKIM-recognized training provider. Experience handling Halal Certification System (MYeHALAL). Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, or ISO 22000 is an advantage.
