Job Summary

The Head of Data Science is responsible for the evolution and adoption of the data science strategy and would help drive solution scaling, operating model, ways of working and communications. You will work towards the development of distinctive analytical and risk insights that deliver improvements in business results through the application of advanced analytical techniques to complex data sets.

Job Accountabilities

• Responsible for the design and development of tools and solutions to meet customer needs and address business problems.
• Contribute to the data solutions roadmap and ensure that all solutions delivered align with the data solutions strategy.
• Responsible for the quality of master data in key systems and ensuring the data models and mapping are documented appropriately.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and work with customers to develop data business strategies and generate insights to support in solving their problems. Complete in-depth diagnostics of customer needs, issues and business drivers and recommend process and system improvement to enhance customer service. Drives the development of next-generation, market leading, analytic techniques to build the data science capabilities across the Zurich group.
• Lead a team of data solutions delivery professionals who analyze data and present it in a meaningful way for customers using data visualizations, data mapping and storytelling.
• Act as a Zurich role model, investing in team development and promoting team diversity and wellbeing. Additionally, build high performing teams, delegating and assessing work and encouraging collaboration both within the team and with stakeholders.
• Develop, propose and lead the implementation of data initiatives to improve processes, develop policies and generate innovation to maintain regulatory compliance and/or deliver process or product enhancements.

• Educational qualifications: Graduate in Engineering /IT/Business Administration/Data Science
• Minimum of 15 years of overall experience with at least 10 years' hands-on experience in data science consulting and Strategy (core requirement)
• Experience in establishing an effective and exemplary Data Science/Analytics team
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand business stakeholders' data needs, including provision of insights and intelligence on a macro, strategic, operational level.
• Solid team player with the ability to deal with ambiguity and negotiation skills
