The mid-market segment in Asia shows the greatest growth potential. In order to leverage this potential in the long run and come closer to the needs of the Asian market, Doka will establish our first innovation hub in Asia (located in Malaysia) and a new team of talent to focus on this area.



Doka is currently looking for a Head of Innovation Hub Asia who will be responsible for leading our multicultural innovation team in Asia.

Reporting to the Director of R&D based in our HQ in Austria, this position requires an innovative individual who can think globally and do locally and has a thorough understanding of engineering, sales and marketing needs in the formwork business. As a valuable counterpart to our local Managing Directors and Sales Manager, you will provide extensive support in drawing up product roadmaps for the Asian markets and/or markets with similar needs. You will be responsible for ensuring that innovation projects meet the timeline within the expected price range.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering, sales and/or product management, and is highly committed and passionate to make this first international Innovation Hub an outstanding success.

Main tasks include:

• Leading and developing our Innovation Hub Asia team further and take over design, statics and testing responsibilities
• Positioning DOKA in the market as the leading partner of the construction industry
• Ongoing review of the efficiency of Research & Development using KPIs
• Making transformational decisions based on market research, customer feedback and sales feedback
• Market and competition monitoring in regards of technical developments together with our country organizations
• Challenging our country organizations to offer high quality input for product development
• Building up a clear picture about the required product roadmap for Value Products (mid-market products) with the help of local Product Management and market research
• Ensuring with your team clear product development specifications based on local available raw materials, production possibilities and quality levels of defined competitors
• Ensuring that development projects meet the defined price points and timelines
• Be compliant with any regional/local laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.
• Adapt, implement, and continuously develop tailored product development processes from the requirement specification to series production
• R&D controlling, ensuring target costing and time to market within the scope of R&D responsibilities
• Aligning with HQ Business Units and Area team on the product portfolios

Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive person with a strong ability to use their experiences for topics related to team development, ideation and market-fit of new products in order to make our first innovation hub a success story. In addition, we look for the following qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines with excellent technical understanding
• Minimum five years of proven experience in the construction or formwork industry, preferably in the Asian market
• Minimum three years of leadership, project management experience and technical product development and/or management
• Thorough understanding of innovation processes and key performance indicators of a formwork producer
• Strong strategic, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, structured and interdisciplinary approach to work
• Customer and team centric approach
• Excellent proficiency in English, any local Asian or German language skills are a definite plus
• Willingness to travel
