- Digital Platform Delivery of the digital products assigned through agile resource management and innovative technology implementation to support business strategy.
- Relationship Management with all functional areas covering Takaful business requirements.
- Business-Technology Alignment looking outside in at solutions to meet current & future business needs.
- Business Analysis & User Requirements for all solutions for Takaful.
- Business Value Realization by understanding solutions, challenging and then co-owning all business technology solutions that are delivered.
- Change Management advocate that drives and enables a culture of innovation to be fostered within your direct team, Transformation and your business partners.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Digital Platform Delivery

  • Manage and execute the development, design and implementation of new digital products and changes to existing information systems and software packages.
  • Maintain a strong focus on effective delivery with cost efficiency in ensuring that the investment in IT realizes the intended benefits.
  • Define action plan to support IT strategy through sound planning, established methods and resourcing to deliver projects within agreed timelines.
  • Manage, enforce and review system change adhered to software development life cycle and software quality management.
  • Manage and optimize system delivery via proper adoption of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Manage application availability with timely resolution of issues and problems
  • Implement policies, procedures, standards and best practice to drive center of excellence for digital platform development.
Relationship Management
  • Single point of contact and expertise for Takaful Enablement to inspire confidence on the ability of Transformation to deliver solutions.
  • With respective Chief Officer for the delivery of all Transformation solutions
Business-Technology Alignment
  • Motivate and inspire the Takaful Enablement teams in terms of innovation and agility on solutions available to address pain points and business needs.
  • Bridging the gap in domain understanding between the business and technical team for focused delivery.
Business Analysis & User Requirements
  • Responsible to lead and manage the Business Analysis teams for Takaful Enablement.
  • Managing the delivery of business requirements specific to Takaful for all initiatives / projects under your remit (e.g. but not only limited to new products, product enhancements, new initiatives, regulatory changes, system replacement, etc) from business requirement documentation to analysis to detailed requirement design to functional testing and beyond.
Business Value Realization
  • First line of review / challenge for all business solutions proposed within Takaful (prioritised against business objectives with value / benefit defined).
  • Building the ACRs (business cases) for all Projects / Programs with regards to Takaful in partnership with the Business Areas
  • Ensuring that plans are in place for benefit realisation and that these are realized (on time and to budget)
(All benefits relating to Takaful will be co-owned between your role & the respective Teams).

Change Management
  • Driving the culture of innovation and change within your direct team, Transformation and your operational business partners.
Team Management
  • Promotion of excellence within the Takaful Enablement team through the attraction, continual development and retention of team members with the knowledge, skills and behaviors to deliver business priorities
  • Establish clear accountabilities and authority levels for direct reports and build a strong culture of accountability and performance in order to ensure delivery of business goals.
  • Build & maintaining organisational options and succession planning within the team
  • Ongoing mentoring for team members.
  • Ongoing monitoring and management of team morale.
Job Specification:
  • Degree from a recognized University preferably in Business, Insurance Studies, Information Technology, Computer Science, etc
  • Professional qualification in Life Insurance i.e., Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII), Life Office Management Association (LOMA), Australian Institute of Insurance (AII), International Claim Association (ICA) or other related to Life Insurance Industry would be an added advantage.
  • Preferred to be certified in a project management methodology (e.g. PMP, APMP, Prince, Agile etc)
  • A minimum of 15 years working experience in life insurance and / or management consultancy is preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a cross-functional team with demonstrated skills in strategic planning and execution of IT / Transformation projects/initiatives.
  • Articulate and proficient in written and spoken English. Basic knowledge of Asian language and Mandarin in written and spoken will be a value-added advantage.
  • Understanding of local/regional regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Life Insurance industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information at different levels and with a team with talents of diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent skills in influencing and negotiation to constructively challenge status quo to achieve productive solutions / outcomes.
  • Excellent critical problem solving, execution, and change management skills.
  • Excellent level of customer focus with the ability to interpret customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests
