About the Department

Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.

We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide leadership and direction to the Business Technology Services (BTS) teams and assume overall management responsibilities in all aspects of IT systems developments, implementations, enhancements and production readiness / stability.Manage teams of BTS staff, including hiring, performance management, assessment, development, mentoring, training and staff budgeting.
• To work closely with Senior Management, business users and other relevant teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of all IT systems commitments.
• Manage expectations of business users, agreeing realistic timescales and project deliverables, ensuring the timely development and delivery of projects and enhancements, in line with agreed milestones.
• Work with external suppliers and developers to achieve high quality and value for money solutions
• Have strategic oversight over application and systems architecture and ensure a strategic approach is taken to the development, continuous improvement, consolidation and de-commissioning of application systems. Ensure all applications comply with relevant software development standards and architecture, and any relevant regulatory, compliance, audit and security guidelines
• Ensure that the department is customer focused in delivering the business priorities of the Bank and has the necessary capability and skills, and can apply them flexibly

Job Requirements

• A recognised Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or any other equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of working experience in the retail and/or wholesale banking and treasury industry.
• Proven experience in heading a mid to large sized in-house business software application build and run organisation
• Possess strong inter-personal, analytical, influencing-negotiation and presentation skills.
• Command leadership, good spoken and written English.
• Matured, agile, independent and resourceful.
