We are seeking a dynamic Head to lead an exciting xe2x80x9cstart-up within a companyxe2x80x9d initiative aimed at bringing affordable, high-quality education to Malaysia's growing middle-class. This role is central to our vision of creating K-10 schools that provide innovative, technology-driven learning experiences, preparing students for success in a globalized world. The Head of Programme Management will oversee the development, operations, and expansion of new school campuses, ensuring financial sustainability, student recruitment, and excellence in educational outcomes. This is an integral role as part of the company's broader focus on impact investing and sustainability, with future plans for regional expansion in Southeast Asia.Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Strategy Development:

  • Lead and manage the establishment of new K-12 school campuses across multiple locations in Malaysia, ensuring alignment with the company's mission to provide affordable, quality education to the middle class.
  • Develop and implement the overall program strategy, ensuring that objectives are met within budget and timelines.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape the business model for school development, including financial models, tuition structures, and growth plans.
  • Define and monitor non-financial KPIs, such as student and parent satisfaction, staff engagement, and student recruitment, to ensure the program's success.
Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee all aspects of school operations, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning, while fostering a safe, engaging environment for students.
  • Manage relationships with architects, curriculum vendors, hardware vendors, furniture providers, and other external partners to ensure seamless execution of campus development and operations.
  • Collaborate with the parent company's School of Education faculty to integrate innovative teaching and learning approaches, with a focus on technology-enhanced, personalized education.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
  • Act as the key liaison between the education initiative and the parent company's corporate resources, leveraging support from various departments, including legal, finance, and HR, to drive project success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Ministry of Education, Real Estate partners, and portfolio investments, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a positive relationship for ongoing and future school operations.
  • Work with external stakeholders, including local government bodies and community partners, to ensure the schools' alignment with community needs and educational standards.
Project Planning & Execution:
  • Develop detailed project plans for each campus, overseeing construction, outfitting, and preparation to ensure timely delivery and opening.
  • Manage the program budget, tracking all financials and ensuring cost-effective decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and project milestones, resolving any issues that may arise and mitigating risks.
People Management & Development:
  • Foster a positive working culture across school campuses, ensuring high levels of staff engagement and well-being.
  • Oversee staff professional development programs to ensure continuous learning and growth, contributing to better educational outcomes and staff retention.
  • Ensure effective student recruitment strategies to meet enrollment targets and attract a diverse student body.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum), preferably in education, business administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of work experience, with significant experience in K-12 education sector.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, budgets, and locations.
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Education is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and ability to manage operational budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and present complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate corporate structures to bring resources to bear on projects.
  • Passionate about education and driven to make a positive social impact through affordable, sustainable education solutions.
