POSITION : Head of Sabah Asset Planning Section

REPORTING TO : Head of Malaysia Sabah Asset

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT : Sabah Asset

LOCATION : KL Office

1. KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Responsible for key business support functions for strategy and executions relating to field development, overall production planning, work program & budget, and operational efficiency of Sabah asset.
  • Responsible for operation support relating to technical and non-technical matters within the asset, internal PTTEP and external.
  • Leadership role for Sabah Asset Planning Section for PTTEP Sabah Asset.
  • Perform for Sabah Asset Business Plan, rolling 5-year work program, WPB, and KPI.
  • Develop Integrate Activity Planning (IAP) with all related functions/ service providers and coordinate the formulation, monitoring, and controlling of Asset business and operations plan.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manage all planning and strategy for all technical and non-technical matters relating to Sabah Asset Related.
  • Provide support to Head of Malaysia Sabah Asset to manage coordination for intra/inter-departmental discussion, meetings, strategy planning and guidance towards the best interest of the Asset.
  • Accountable and be the focal point for Sabah Asset work program & budget for short & long-term planning and Asset production forecast with incorporation of planned operational activities, field development plan (FDP) activities and constraints.
  • Supervise team in working with across functional teams to define work schedule, major project development, drilling sequence, well intervention plan, modifications and constraints which will lead to short-term and medium-term production forecast.
  • Custodian of overall asset goals, plans, budgeting, and KPI.
  • Coordinate with all department and parties to provide input and activities to come up with all short-term, mid-term and long-term production forecasts with the incorporation of operation and facility constraints.

  • Chair/coordinate critical multi-team discussions internally and externally.
  • Focal for all technical/asset related corresponded to MPM/Partners with matters relating to operation, subsurface, and asset performance.
  • Accountable for accurate production planning and facility constraint to ensure timely tanker planning without exposed to demurrage or tank top.
  • Close liaison with other departments & sections such as SSHE, Drilling & Completions, Maintenance, Logistics and Projects & Facilities.
  • Accountable for the overall asset-integrated plan by ensuring the integrity/effectivity of the plan for the day-to-day operation and for mid/long term planning.
  • Managing all internal/external stakeholder-related requests for assets for data, audits, and presentations.
  • Maintain the current asset spend against budget and assist with all budget-related discussions with finance, partners, and MPM as required.
Continue Accountibilities
  • Monitor project to ensure its alignment with milestone, schedule, and budget; provide advice in terms of work phasing to minimize loss.
  • Accountable for setting the Sabah Asset strategic direction and key performance indication to optimize daily production and cost of development.
  • Account for the progress of optimization initiatives, preparation of budget, and lead yearly produce to limit (PTL) workshop for opportunities in Asset production optimization.
  • Assist Head of Malaysia Sabah Asset with presentation pack preparation for any related matter to overall Asset Planning.
  • Coordinate overall asset field development plan between subsurface and surface assets.
  • Responsible, initiated and see through all the asset/well decommissioning plan.
  • Managing employee under Asset Planning Section\'s day-to-day activities, work distribution & providing guidance and support towards achieving common objectives.
  • Mentoring of less experienced onshore engineering support staff.
3. KEY AUTHORITIES
  • Overall asset-integrated planning.
  • Coordination of information, meetings, and presentation and being the moderator for all asset-related requests and requirements.
  • Responsible for review and cascading of all production profiles, cost profiles related to the asset to economics and corporate planning team.
  • Tanker planning and timely lifting.
  • Keeper of the overall asset plan and asset value and ensuring plan are in-line for the best value of the asset.
4. WORKING RELATIONSHIP
  • Reporting to Head of Malaysia Sabah Asset.
  • Close working relationship with Head of Sabah Production Operation Section, Head of Sabah Petroleum Development Section and Head of Planning Section (PLC/P).
  • Interdepartmental working relationship with Commercial & Economics, PSC & JV Management, Planning, Drilling & Completion, Projects & Facilities.
  • External stakeholder management, PSC Representatives, MPM Leaderships.
5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent.
  • University honors degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, E&I or equivalent engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience in oil and gas most of which should be associated with upstream operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring roles in issues related to completions, subsurface operations, and production engineering.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong personal and interpersonal skills with flexibility to meet the fluctuating needs of cross-functional operations support.
  • Willingness to collaborate multi-disciplinary information consolidation and discussion/meeting.
  • Prior knowledge and experience of managing technical matters pertaining to either surface operation and/or subsurface is preferred.
  • Prior experience in petroleum economics is a plus.
