The successful candidate should be an established academic with proven track record of teaching, research and leadership in an Engineering and Construction discipline. The appointee will be expected to lead both teaching and research operations in their area of specialisation and more broadly across the University. The candidate will also be expected to develop strong links with the industry as well as to provide strategic leadership in the areas of construction, energy, engineering, and geological sciences. We expect the successful candidate to undertake significant managerial role within the Malaysia Campus.
Postholder will be expected to have experience in leading an academic department, managing people and finance as well as overseeing engineering / science laboratories.
The role will be appointed an academic grade (Associate Professor or Professor) commensurate to their academic experience and will be based at the University\'s campus in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia. Programmes will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential. An induction programme will be delivered to all new academic staff upon reporting on Heriot-Watt\'s standards and values, and to give practical experience on preparation, delivery and assessment of teaching.
