JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety and environmental compliance within the organization, by working closely with the team to ensure that all stakeholders are following proper procedures and protocols at all times. The role must also ensure policies are updated in accordance to latest legislation and applied based on operational needs.
  • Perform accident or incident investigations, together with the relevant stakeholders and authorities.
  • Timely review incident or accident detail, prepare narratives and develop action plan(s) to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Policies and procedures - To enforce and update existing documents and to create and formalize new SOPs based on operational needs.
  • Monitor all work in progress and to ensure safety protocols are adhered.
  • Perform spot checks and risk assessments on HSE-related procedures on operating units and vendors (internal and external) - including destination wide events.
  • To suggest continuous improvement and best practices to reduce or avoid any violations.
  • To ensure non-compliance are dealt based on existing penalty structure.
  • Analyze hazards and develop ergonomic risk assessments for public and non-public areas.
  • Maintain a positive and continuous relationship with respective government agencies and/or authority bodies.
  • Administer occupational injured worker's programs and workers' compensation.
  • Resolve HSE-related complaints and suggest to management for corrective action.
  • Plan, initiate and conduct employee safety training, classroom lectures, demos and hands-on instructions.
  • To manage destination-wide safety and fire equipment.
  • To coordinate the inner-workings of Safety and Health Committee.
  • Execute effective safety, hazard control and industrial hygiene program.
  • Maintain positive relationship with operating units' safety officers.
  • Gatekeeper for 'Permit-to-Work' (PTW) issuance.
  • Keep abreast of new acts and legislation, interpret, apply and explain suitable safety and environmental laws, codes and guidelines to the company.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess valid green book and registered as Certified Safety and Health Officer from DOSH department.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in HSSE with 3 years' experience in a managerial role.
  • Good knowledge and experience to liaise with all relevant authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to explore new area of responsibilities for the benefit of the destination within HSE perimeters.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong ability to work independently with every level of stakeholder.
  • High level of integrity and has no prior violation and criminal record.
