Monitor and ensure that all activities on the construction site comply with local, state, and national safety laws, regulations, and standards.
Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that safety measures are being followed.
Enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices among workers and subcontractors.
Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used correctly by site personnel.
Perform risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and conditions on-site.
Maintain safety data sheets (SDS) for all hazardous materials and chemicals used on the site.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine their cause, identify corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and unsafe practices.
Document all safety-related issues and track the implementation of corrective actions.
Conduct safety orientation and training for new workers and subcontractors to ensure they are aware of site-specific hazards and safety procedures.
Organize regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions on various safety topics, including fire safety, fall protection, and first aid.
Keep records of safety training, certifications, and health programs for all employees.
Ensure the construction site is equipped with proper emergency procedures, including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits.
Plan and coordinate emergency drills such as fire evacuation, spill response, and medical emergencies.
Provide first aid when required and coordinate with emergency services in case of serious incidents.
Ensure all safety-related documentation is up-to-date and complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit regular safety performance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
Act as a liaison between the construction team and management regarding safety concerns and issues.
Advise project managers, supervisors, and workers on safety measures and potential hazards.
Work with contractors and subcontractors to ensure they are compliant with safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements:
Registered competent safety & health officer (SHO) with Occupational Safety & Health Department (DOSH) - must have a valid Green Book
Able to work independently, self motivated, have good communication and strong problem solving skill.
Minimum 5 years experience in safety supervision and implementation in building construction industry and proven track good of completing project with quality achievement in safety
Knowledge in property and construction terminology, high-rise construction, security and environment management is an advantage
