This position requires love, patience and respect for children. The teacher will encourage the children to be independent and be a model for them through appropriate manners and behaviours. The teacher will also instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth following the Montessori method by performing the following duties: Adhere to company and safety policies and procedures. Assist the Head Teacher with providing the children with a \'prepared environment\'. Assist with individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional and academic areas. Lead the development of the department\'s curriculum. Assess lesson plans and current teaching methods. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents and co-workers. Participate in all school programs. Implement the Teacher\'s lesson plans and maintaining daily classroom schedules. Support each child\'s social, emotional and intellectual growth and development. Ensure the wellbeing and safety of children at all times. Use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the Teacher, to meet individual student needs. Assist students with assignments or difficult concepts. Maintaining communication with parents, staff and faculty regarding the progress of students. Requirements: Candidates with Diploma in Early Childhood Education and above will have an added advantage. At least 2 years of relevant professional teaching experience, preferably in a childcare/kindergarten environment. Willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning is required.
