Carry out regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the hotel's facilities, including guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and exterior grounds.
Quickly identify and fix electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical problems to maintain guest comfort and safety.
Perform regular maintenance and servicing of equipment, including air conditioners, water heaters, pumps, and lighting systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and log all work performed.
2. Safety and Compliance
Ensure all maintenance work adheres to hotel safety policies and local regulations.
Regularly inspect fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers for functionality and compliance.
Promptly identify, report, and resolve safety hazards, maintenance issues, and equipment malfunctions.
Participate in safety drills and assist in maintaining emergency systems.
3. Guest Service Support
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests or departments.
Deliver polite, prompt, and professional assistance when addressing guest room concerns.
Minimize guest inconvenience during repair or maintenance work.
4. Equipment and Inventory Management
Maintain records of maintenance work, repairs, and inventory of tools, materials, and spare parts.
Request replacement parts and materials as needed and ensure efficient use of supplies.
Keep the workshop and maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe.
5. Coordination and Communication
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage) to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Report major maintenance requirements to the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.
Assist contractors and external service providers during installations or major repairs.
6. Energy and Sustainability
Monitor and report energy and water consumption; assist in implementing energy-saving initiatives.
Suggest improvements for reducing maintenance costs and enhancing operational efficiency.
7. Other Duties
Support special events, setup, and hotel projects as required.
Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Manager.
Qualification
Education & Training
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, or a related technical field.
Vocational or technical school training in building maintenance or engineering preferred.
Additional certification in specific areas (e.g., refrigeration, electrical installation, or plumbing) is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of
1-2 years of experience
in maintenance or engineering, preferably in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and basic safety regulations.
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment diagrams.
Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC systems.
Familiarity with tools, meters, and testing instruments used in maintenance work.
Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting (e.g., using maintenance software or MS Office).
