Purpose:

The HR BP ESC Malaysia will provide an overall HR support for our Elanco Solution Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role is the part of local management team.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

HR Business Partnership

  • Know the Business
+ Is a key member of the local leadership team that understands and contributes insight into business strategy beyond HR functional expertise
+ Understands the culture, local environment and business conditions
+ Challenges and supports business leaders to achieve the organization goals and objectives
+ Ensures the leadership team has identified critical organization capabilities needed to execute the business strategy.
+ Supports identification of organizational and people-related changes, needed to achieve long-range and business plan objectives including critical organizational capabilities.
+ Enables any significant strategic changes in the organization including communications, training, employee involvement strategies, and change leadership.
  • Enable the Workforce Strategy
+ Enables business leadership to recruit, develop and retain talent to meet leadership and technical capabilities needed in the organization
+ Provides strategies and support to ensure that the workforce is engaged, motivated and appropriately rewarded to achieve both long- and short-term business objectives
+ Ensures a cohesive and safe working environment through the adherence of labor- related laws and regulations; and creating a cordial, positive, collaborative working environment
+ Utilizes metrics, trends and data to ensure positive impact to the workforce, through Voice of Employee survey findings to site leadership team, analysis of attrition rate and exit interviews.
+ Supports operational effectiveness improvements.
+ Has an effective influencing skill to build relationships and influences internal and external customers and lead continual improvement of processes including team effectiveness, communication, training, and culture.
  • Bring HR Competence
+ Executes core HR processes to ensure the Global Shared Services centers are built with effectiveness and efficiency
+ Provides operational advice, consultation, and coaching to the senior leaders on critical organization and talent-related issues
+ Liaisons for all Talent management, Performance Management and Development processes for the local ESC organization. This includes running the Succession Planning process and supporting the development of key talents
+ Work with HR stakeholders across compensation & benefits, recruiting and staffing, leadership development, talent management, and diversity and inclusion to ensure that the policies, programs, and plans best serve the needs of the business that they support.
+ On compensation & benefits front, this role is instrumental to coordinate all processing of employees\xe2\x80\x99 salary computation for payroll and manage the administration of benefit programs
+ Closely collaborates with Poland, Mexico, India and Malaysia based HR colleagues to ensure alignment on policies and processes.
+ Works closely and effectively with the ESC HR Admin/Operations team to ensure a smooth admin operations
+ Works with key owners to ensure controls and compliances are in place and in line with corporate guidelines while adhere to all local country regulations. This includes proactive establishing of policies and procedures to add value to current systems/processes.
+ Acts as the Investigator in necessary cases, once identified (HR-related scope only).
+ Acts as the main contact person on all employment pass application, renewal, and other related documents for ESC employees.
+ Acts as the main contact person on all the required documents for spouse visa for ESC employees.
+ Involved in CRISIS committee, FOW committee, ESC Engagement Team, HR Transformation on-going initiative, VOE Action Plan with ESC Leader and takes necessary action as on when is needed.
+ Provides monthly/ as on when needed headcount and turnover reports
+ Maintains up to date and legally compliant employee personnel files and responsible for providing documents to external auditors and/or any other local authority body for verification purpose.
+ Partnerships with L&D for APAC, to ensure that ESC group of employees has the right trainings provided
+ Ensures compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Balance the Needs of Leadership, Employees, and the Company
+ Enables high quality informed decisions by advocating, in a balanced way, the need and priorities of the Company, the Management and the Employee.
+ Maintains objectivity to provide business leaders with different perspectives

Talent Acquisition
  • Partnerships with Malaysia Talent Acquisition team to secure effective recruitment and filling the open roles
  • Presents and champions Elanco\xe2\x80\x99s value proposition to candidates by articulating a clear and compelling message about our mission, values, and business strategy
  • Effectively represents the Elanco brand to all candidates in the recruitment process
  • Advises hiring managers on diversity, competitive offers, and market trends
  • Secures appropriate offers design, in line with comp guidelines and internal relativity background
  • Learning & Development
+ Supports ESC Development Programs implementation
+ Provides performance coaching to the leadership on various topics, including driving personal effectiveness in all aspects of their job responsibilities and managing team performance including handling poor performers.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related from reputable university
  • Minimum 4-8 years of Human Resources (including HR BP) experience, should have an established track record of significant Human Resources exposure
  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
  • Understanding of the Malaysian market/ESC environment and experienced gained in a global organizations
  • Knowledge of the Malaysian labor legislations
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in Malaysia. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment status or relocation.
Additional Skills / Preferences:
  • Experience in organizational, team, and individual improvement interventions
  • Workforce Management Expertise \xe2\x80\x93 Talent Management, Leadership Development, Staffing, Engagement
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic and operational planning, organization design, executive team development, leadership development, performance coaching, and/or rewards design
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated bias towards action and focus on results
  • Ability to appropriately diagnose business problems and create and implement appropriate solutions
  • Ability to understand what is critical and unique to the success of this organization and/or the learning agility to acquire this knowledge quickly
  • Previous experience with Workday Recruiting module is a plus
  • Experience in a shared services organization in Malaysia will be an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload to meet strict deadlines and cope with competing priorities
  • A positive, \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude
  • Experience in a role with a scope beyond Malaysia (ie multiple geographies within Asia Pacific) will an advantage
  • Ability to work with remote management (supervisors will be located overseas)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Possess an agile change mindset, where expected to play a key role in transformational change initiatives in the company
  • Effective and practical in supporting of daily business work.
