Position overview


Are you interested to become a competent Indirect Tax Analyst by ensuring efficient end-to-end indirect tax compliance, risk management as well as continuous improvement in Global Business Services? In this role, you will be leading APAC indirect tax compliance cycles by liaising with relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities


  • Ensure best practice end-to-end indirect tax compliance and risk management and continuous improvement in GBS for APAC.
  • Ensure integrity of Allnex indirect tax-related records- well-documented preparation and submission of all indirect tax returns, plausibility checks, tax code integrity checks, and account reconciliations.
  • Perform change management, activity transfer, and documentation of Indirect Tax processes.
  • Develop an appropriate resource base for the APAC Indirect tax processes.
  • Prepare indirect tax returns/reporting.
  • Perform the return review according to the assigned task list.
  • Update and track plausibility checks and corrections to be performed and issues raised during the compliance process.
  • Liaison with primary data owners outside the finance team.
  • Conduct research, fact-finding and preparing indirect tax advice for the relevant stakeholders and act as a tax lead in the stakeholder management process.
  • Ensure system maintenance and updates (tax coding, advice, and participation in ERP system enhancements due to legislative changes etc.)
  • Maintain strong alignment at all times with members of the global allnex tax team.
  • Provide indirect tax training for the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure indirect tax is correctly accounted for within the books of account and control accounts are fully reconciled.
  • Verification and validation of tools used and bookings performed on a periodical basis.
  • Follow the legislation changes and make sure they\xe2\x80\x99re implemented within allnex accordingly;
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and training for any new hires within the team.
  • Perform autonomous root cause analysis and develop remediation plans in the indirect tax process and other exposures.
  • Ensure the indirect tax audit-related matters are attended to promptly (audits, questions tax authorities, ad hoc checks, and reconciliations).
  • Pursue opportunities for automation and digitization of the APAC Indirect tax processes.


Required skills and experience


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an indirect tax or equivalent role, preferentially gathered in an international or shared service environment.
  • Solid knowledge of the Asian and other regions\' indirect tax framework.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel: Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with ERP systems (knowledge of SAP is an added advantage).
  • A sound business sense with excellent numerical skills.
  • Transparent and seeking alignment within the tax team and stakeholders.
  • Ability in multi-tasking, prioritizing and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, communication skills, and persistence.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must; other languages such as Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, OR Korean speaking is an added advantage.
  • Possess business focus and curious mindset.
  • Proactive, motivated, and willing to take initiative.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized with good problem-solving skills.
  • Good team player and able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s/ Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Finance or Tax with a focus on Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent education.
