Job Description

Logistics engineering is a field of engineering dedicated to the scientific organization of the purchase, transport, storage, distribution, and warehousing of materials and finished goods.

• Collect, plot, and analyze material flow data from supplier to production line to capture improvement opportunities.
• Develop material flow diagram from receiving to production line including operators and material handling equipment movements.
• Implement material flow equipment such as conveyors, EMS systems, AGVs, and ASRS systems from concept to launch.
• Challenge assumptions that are not backed up by a thorough engineering evaluation.
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing engineers to ensure equipment is compatible with upstream and downstream processes and equipment.
• Ability to generate scopes of work, select, and manage domestic or international equipment vendors.
• Conduct time studies for all material handling operational activities through engineering studies , and report required to run head counts.
• Analyze economic factors when developing alternatives to propose a maximized solution and optimize total cost.
• Ability to develop, launch and validate projects at multiple sites simultaneously.
• Work with selected suppliers to ensure project schedules are met and within the defined budget while meeting all success factors
