We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented
Automation Engineer Intern
to assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of industrial automation systems. The role involves exposure to
robotic systems, PLC programming, data integration, and smart factory technologies
, providing hands-on experience in digital manufacturing transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the
design, configuration, and testing
of automation systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotic systems).
Support the
implementation of fully automatic systems
for production lines, such as
cartoning, palletising, and packaging
.
Contribute to the
integration of sensors, barcode/code readers, and data logging systems
into the
Warehouse Execution System (WES)
or Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Participate in
real-time data acquisition, visualization, and analysis
to improve production efficiency and quality control.
Work with the engineering team to
troubleshoot
electrical, mechanical, or control issues.
Support the
development and documentation
of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system validation reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
optimize process automation
, increase machine uptime, and reduce manual inputs.
Learning Outcomes
Practical experience with
industrial automation tools
(PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics).
Exposure to
Industry 4.0 technologies
, including IoT, data integration, and warehouse automation.
Understanding of
process optimization, control logic, and system integration

Hands-on project experience in a
smart manufacturing

Requirements
Currently pursuing a
Bachelor's or Diploma
in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or related fields.
Basic knowledge of
PLC programming (Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Omron)
and
robotic systems
is an advantage.
Familiar with
Python, C++, or industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA)
is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and contribute to innovative automation projects.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
Experience with
AutoCAD / SolidWorks / EPLAN
.
Exposure to
data analytics or dashboard tools
(e.g., Power BI).
Familiarity with
Lean Manufacturing
or
Six Sigma
concepts.
