About this opportunity

We are hiring an experienced investigations manager in Ericsson\xe2\x80\x99s Corporate and Government Investigations (CGI) team to supervise a team handling investigations in Asia and Oceania. CGI is responsible for the investigation of potential legal and compliance violations within Ericsson and is a critical support in ensuring the effectiveness and credibility of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s ethics and compliance program, defending the Company\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to integrity, building trust with stakeholders -- including enforcement authorities and the Company\xe2\x80\x99s external compliance monitor -- and ultimately driving the Company\xe2\x80\x99s sustainable success.

The person in this position is responsible for all CGI investigations in Asia and Oceania and reports to the head of CGI.

The Asia and Oceania hub comprises approximately 15 team members including lawyers, investigators, analysts and paralegals. The manager of the Asia and Oceania hub collaborates with other CGI colleagues on reporting of matters to the U.S. Department of Justice and Ericsson\xe2\x80\x99s compliance monitor, the handling of government investigations, and process and policy improvements for CGI.

We will consider candidates within all countries in Asia and Oceania. The position is hybrid (remote and in office), depending on location. Occasional travel is required.

What you will do

Oversee investigations of reported Code of Business Ethics violations in a forensically sound, robust, fair and timely manner

Supervise team members, including attorneys, paralegals, investigators, investigation analysts, and/or other roles, including by setting expectations and performance goals, providing training and coaching as needed, resolving conflicts and building morale

Supervise investigators who: lead, plan, execute and report on investigations according to a defined framework while also using judgment and making credibility determinations; gather and review evidence and conduct financial and other forensic reviews; and conduct witness interviews

Address resource needs and manage workload; hire personnel and outside vendors as needed; manage hub activities within budget

Support our reporting to the U.S. Department of Justice and Ericsson\xe2\x80\x99s external compliance monitor, including our obligations under Paragraph 13 of Ericsson\xe2\x80\x99s Plea Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice

Support responses to investigations by government authorities, and provide information on cases relevant to Ericsson\xe2\x80\x99s Audit & Compliance Committee, for matters in the Asia and Oceania hub

Manage multiple ongoing investigations, including complex investigations and investigations led by outside counsel, and ensuring that the investigations are high quality, thorough, and conducted efficiently

Draft clear written investigation reports summarizing investigation findings, edit investigations reports prepared by investigators, provide comments and feedback on reports drafted by outside counsel

Inform relevant decision-makers of the status of investigation findings on a timely basis and present summaries of the investigation

Identify patterns and trends based on investigations data

In consultation with attorneys, assess privilege issues and ensure that investigations are conducted under attorney-client privilege where applicable, using internal resources or external counsel

Conduct investigations in compliance with relevant laws, including data privacy laws

Ensure that all relevant data is preserved and collected, timely reviewed and produced to any investigating governmental authority, and that materials sought, collected and produced are properly tracked, as appropriate; collaborate with colleagues concerning collection of digital evidence; and manage related information flow in our internal case management system

Collaborate with the Allegation Management Office on assessing matters to be accepted for investigation

Collaborate with the Compliance Office and relevant Business Area and Market Area compliance heads and business leaders on remediation; support remediation including personnel action and addressing process control gaps

Assist in the development of investigations policies, processes and tools both within the Asia & Oceania hub and across CGI; identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions

Support initiatives in the broader Group Function Legal Affairs organization

You will bring

12+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience handling investigations or in related areas, including federal investigations in the United States as well as investigations involving international conduct

Significant experience as a people manager and team leader

Significant experience handling complex investigations, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-corruption matters, accounting fraud, and similar issues

Fluency in English

Strong communication, writing and presentation skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong interpersonal skills and experience working cross-culturally

Demonstrated ability to independently handle and manage complex matters, as well as manage multiple matters at one time

Demonstrated ability to think strategically regarding scoping, handling and resolving investigations

Comfort with ambiguity and change and ability to lead a team through change

A strong work ethic and ability to respond to fast-moving issues, including in other time zones as needed

Preferred qualifications:

A law degree

Experience working with or under a monitor

Experience in-house an international technology or telecom company or at a law firm advising multi-national technology or telecom companies

Foreign language fluency with a language spoken in the region

Government investigations experience, including experience interacting with regulators, particularly with federal authorities in the United States
