The IT Support Executive (Software) is responsible to support the IT function of the school specialising in IT software.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible in supporting the day-to-day IT operations and ensure the system and network are always on optimum performance.
2. Ensure IT issues are escalated (or handled?) in accordance with policies and procedures
3. Provide effective IT Software Maintenance, Planning and Support
- Diagnose and troubleshoot computers, printers and peripheral devices related problems.
- Provide IT Solutions and related helpdesk service for end users.
- To log support calls and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
- Ensure all computers are updated with the latest security patches and virus definitions.
- Conduct end-user application training.
4. Network & Telecommunication Infrastructure Planning & Support
- Responsible for project implementation of network upgrading and evaluating, recommending, setup and configuring new network software.
- Implement, maintain and install all applications and file systems permission settings to protect against unauthorised access and misuse.
- Maintain and monitor all network services, equipment and devices and ensuring that they are performing at optimum level.
- Maintain, administer and support all network servers and perform housekeeping for servers to ensure best performance.
- Maintain security of the network by ensuring all the backup process are working and apply the latest security patches and virus definition to ensure virus free servers.
- Performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems.
- Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance upgrades.
- Manages all system back-up and restore protocol and ensure that the data is adequately backed up and protected.
- Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference
- Responsible for telecommunication infrastructure administration, implementation and installation.
5. Ensure all IT users conformed to IT Security Standard and Security Policy:
- Manage user accounts, emails, mailboxes and network information. This include disabling of expired accounts according to HR requirement.
- Maintain appropriate records of software licences, network and computer assets inventory.
- Keep the IT inventory and maintenance logs up to date.
- Maintain and enforce IT policies and environment standard.
- Perform routine audits for computer software licences.
- Keep information confidential.
6. Maintain school website and ensure information is up to date.
Job and Person Specification
1. Possess minimum Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent.
2. Required languages: English, BM
3. Strong commitment and passion for education and concern for students' welfare.
4. Be self-motivated and responsible.
5. Ability to handle PC / Network / Server trouble shooting, basic IT related issues.
6. Knowledge of hardware, networking, security & surveillance and data entry
7. At least one (1) year experience in related field
1. Experience working in an education institute.
