Open to candidates available in Malaysia ) Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Java Support Engineer with expertise in Linux and UNIX shell scripting. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for Java-based applications, as well as developing and maintaining shell scripts for various system automation tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java programming, a solid understanding of Linux and UNIX operating systems, and proficiency in shell scripting. REQUIREMENTS : Mandatory Skills: Java Support with Linux and UNIX shell scripting Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in Java development, including troubleshooting and performance optimization. Strong proficiency in Linux and UNIX operating systems, with experience in system administration tasks. Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Perl, or similar) and automation tools (e.g., cron, shell commands). Familiarity with web application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, JBoss) and database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle). Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsibilities: Provide technical support and issue resolution for Java-based applications, including troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues. Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate system tasks, such as deployment, monitoring, and log analysis. Perform system administration tasks on Linux and UNIX environments, including user management, file system management, and process monitoring. Participate in the design and implementation of software solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Conduct regular system maintenance activities, including software upgrades, patches, and backups. Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Java development, Linux, and UNIX shell scripting.
