Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To clean and sanitize laboratory equipment, glassware, and workspaces regularly.
• Stock and organize laboratory supplies and chemicals.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of laboratory materials and reagents.
• Dispose of hazardous materials following proper disposal guidelines.
• Prepare and set up experiments as per the instructions provided by the Chemist or supplier.
• Assist in data collection and recording of experimental results.
• Monitor experiments and alert the chemist to any issues or irregularities.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental data.
• Operate laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pipettes, etc. following established protocols.
• Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Label, store, and prepare samples for analysis or experimentation.
• Handle biological, chemical, or physical specimens according to safety guidelines.
• Follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and disposing of hazardous waste properly.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to the chemist/supervisor.
• Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including data, procedures, and observations.
• Assist in preparing reports and summaries of experimental findings.
• Collaborate with chemist/researcher to document methodologies and results.
• Collaborate with chemists/researchers on ongoing projects.
• Assist in literature reviews, background research, and data analysis.
• Communicate effectively with team members, chemists and researchers.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.
• To understand and maintain QMS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
• In addition to the roles and responsibilities, employees always have to take care of the safety and health of self and other employee in accordance with the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 1994 Section 24 PART VI GENERAL DUTIES OF EMPLOYEES.
• To perform other related duties as assigned.

• Diploma/Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Science/Biology/Chemistry or an equivalency;
• Fresh graduate or minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar field.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment;
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
• Good presentation, documentation, and reporting skills;
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
• Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory techniques.
• Physical ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment and supplies.
