Job Description

Our RoleThis position is the training ground for work in our laboratories. It is our entry level position where the employee uses our lab equipment, completes the required sample preparation, experiments and processes to test the quality of Graymont finished products, core samples and other materials.Key focus areas the role will include:

• Perform the most commonly used Methods of Analyses for sample preparation and testing found on myGraymont with some supervision.
• Utilise lab software to record results.
• Report deviant results to Senior Lab Technician/Chemist or Chemist.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for common problems with some supervision.
• Contribution to lab projects and lab improvement initiatives.
• Perform basic calibration and preventative maintenance duties as assigned with some supervision.
• Effectively use required equipment.
• Perform required housekeeping.
• Effectively multi-task to enable flexibility in delivery of required work outputs.
• All employees are required to complete other responsibilities, tasks, training and development activities and participate in company programs as required by the Company.

• Methods of Analysis followed to complete required testing.
• Test results measured and documented.
• Process issues identified.
• Basic troubleshooting completed.
• Basic calibration and preventative maintenance duties completed.
• Required equipment utilised safely and correctly.

• Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:
• May be required to have degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) or other relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Can work under supervision and with some autonomy with intermittent guidance on new tasks.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Basic Microsoft Office experience.
