Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent is to carry out the day-to-day maintenance activities containing scientific apparatus, laboratory supplies/glassware and experimental practical/projects.
KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic \xe2\x80\xa2 Dusting and wiping of lab equipment, tables/workbenches, models and trolleys using rags.
- Scrubs shelves, racks, tables, work benches and sinks using cleaning solutions and brushes.
- Washing, rinsing, drying of lab glassware and utensils.
- Rearranging of glassware and utensils at the designated cabinet/place after drying.
- Checking and refilling of soap dispenser, detergent/wash bottles and distilled water containers.
- To assist in the basic setup of practical for examinations.
- To assist and perform other duties as and when required,
PMR or SPM
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Preferably at least 3 years relevant working experience, preferably in an educational institution
COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- Ability to communicate comfortably with students and staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Possess a good command of English
- Possess good planning, coordinating, managing and time management skills
- Resourceful, customer focused, self-motivated and result oriented
- Has a strong sense of responsibility
- Good team player and flexible
- Courteous, calm and focused
- People oriented with warm and cheerful personality
- Professional appearance and good working attitude
- Pro-active, mature and emotionally stable
