Summary Laundry Manager is responsible for running laundry departments\' day to day operations and also to deliver an excellent guest experience while managing stock ordering and supplier relationships. Assists the Director of Housekeeping to assume complete direction, operational control, and supervision of the Laundry department. The Role of the Laundry Manager Developing and putting into operation the current system and technical advancement in the field of Laundry operations Formulating washing formula for stained loads Ensuring the washing of linen and uniform as per standard Maintenance and upkeep of all laundry equipment Co-ordinating with the Engineering Department about their routine maintenance of the equipment Develop new methods for increasing laundry efficiency Coordinate with the maintenance team for outstanding repairs of machinery Overall controlling and supervision of the Department Training and coordination with supporting Departments To review operational procedures from time to time To determine quality and performance standards for all guests\' valet work Record and monitor laundry cost Key Functions - Laundry Manager To determine quality and performance standards for all guests\' valet work Coordinates with the Personnel Department regarding pre-screening of employees, indicating staffing needs and qualifications desired of personnel necessary to staff the Laundry Department. Coordinates the operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department in the Hotel to guarantee minimum disruption in the overall operation of the Hotel Ensures that adequate supply of clean linen and other laundered items including staff uniforms and guest laundry items Establishes a training program within assigned departments, which will enable positions of increased responsibilities to be filled from within the department Be constantly alert for newer methods, techniques, equipment and materials that will provide a more efficient operation at reduced costs Stimulates within all employees a friendly and cheerful attitude, giving proper emphasis to courtesy in contacts with guests and other colleagues Maintains strict inventory and purchase control over all controllable items Develops job descriptions for all members of assigned staff Conducts employee performance appraisals on time, showing objectivity and sincerity. Employees should be personally counseled toward improvements.
