About the Role

We seek a well-rounded and dynamic individual to join our GBS HR Operations team as Lead HR International Assignees. You are responsible to lead, develop and manage the performance of the International Assignee execution team to ensure timely and accurate execution of mandated activities, in accordance with the Operational Plan, Service Level Agreement, Standard Operating Procedures and regional legislation. Due to an internal secondment, we have a 12-month fixed opportunity available based in Kuala Lumpur.

The successful candidate will demonstrate solid experience in HR Operations; a focus on leading teams, proven experience in effective stakeholder management, strong attention to data quality and experience executing HR projects and improvement initiatives. Additionally, your strong critical thinking and ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity, will contribute to your success in the role.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Head of GBS HR Operations, you will be accountable for:

  • Leading the International Assignee Payroll team through coaching and developing team members to deliver against performance targets through operational excellence; ensuring delivery of service is compliant, timely and customer focused.
  • Manage team workforce planning, capacity including planning on task allocation, capability improvement on the current workload and incoming volumes/projects.
  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including the Operational Plan, Data Privacy, policies, systems standards and procedures.
  • Identify and assess process risks, making risk informed decisions, using BHP\'s risk management framework and building a risk culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Monitor internal controls and legislative compliance. Monitor changes to internal and external legal, regulatory and reporting requirements impacting the team in their allocated area of accountability.
  • Second level of escalation to the business and coordinate quality customer service with team members for effective handling of payroll operation, customer complaints and payroll issue resolution.
  • Work and engage with various internal stakeholders and external stakeholders as part of delivering the above accountability.
  • Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the system and processes.
  • Promote a step-up culture and a culture of innovation, learning, development and continuous improvement.
About You
  • Understanding of HR tools, processes and systems with experience using SAP and Success Factor.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, problem solving would be critical for this role to explain complex issue and process.
  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyze information, with the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution focused nature.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and can actively identify opportunities for improved customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and strong learning agility.
