Job Description


Jadestone Energy is an independent oil and gas production company focused on the Asia Pacific region. In 2021, Jadestone acquired SapuraOMV\'s assets in Peninsular Malaysia. These assets include interests in four licenses, two of which Jadestone has operated since the 2021 acquisition. These include a 70% operated interest in the PM329 PSC, containing the East Piatu field, and a 60% operated interest in the PM323 PSC, which contains the East Belumut, West Belumut and Chermingat fields. In addition, Jadestone acquired a 50% non-operated working interest in the PM318 and AAKBNLP PSCs, which were operated by PETRONAS Carigali. Jadestone assumed operatorship and full interest of those two PSCs earlier this year and is now engaged with PETRONAS on a path to unlocking additional value through these assets. Outside of Malaysia, the Company has a 100% operated working interest in the Stag oilfield and in the Montara project, both offshore Australia. Both the Stag and Montara assets include oil producing fields, with further development and exploration potential. The Company also has a 16.67% non-operated interest in the North West Shelf Oil Project offshore Western Australia, comprising four oil fields containing significant upside potential through potential infill drilling and life extension activities. Further, the Company has a 100% operated working interest in two gas development blocks in Southwest Vietnam, and an operated 100% interest in the Lemang PSC, onshore Sumatra, Indonesia, which includes the Akatara gas field development, where first production is expected in the first half of 2024. Most recently, the Company acquired a non-operated 9.52% interest in the Sinphuhorm producing gas field onshore Thailand. The Lead, Reservoir Engineering will report to the Group Subsurface Manager and oversee the production and subsurface aspects of reservoir management and development activities for all the company\'s assets. The individual will play a key role in corporate business planning and management decisions on business development and company strategy. This position will be responsible for reviewing the reservoir engineering scope of work to define optimum depletion mechanism and development strategy for optimizing production and maximizing the value of the assets. At times, the Reservoir Engineering Lead will be leading asset evaluations to support the inorganic growth of the company. In addition, this role will have responsibility as the key reviewer in gaining approvals for reservoir engineering deliverables presented to internal and external entities (partners, regulatory body, banks, and auditors). Tightly integrating with other subsurface disciplines to provide optimum answers will form an essential part of the role. Principle Accountabilities: Deliver production performance target and make recommendations for production optimization. Deliver and monitor reservoir management plan, field-wide surveillance programs and monthly target producing plans. Hold accountability on production allocation, forecasting and reserves evaluation. Monitor reserves changes and contribute relevant part of subsurface input to the annual corporate business plan activities and updates. Review and conduct reservoirs/field development studies (i.e. analytical and numerical simulation) to define optimal reservoir depletion strategy via IOR and/or EOR techniques. Lead exploration/appraisal and development planning activities and provide reservoir engineering inputs and/or recommendations in a timely manner. Coordinate and write FDP and/or updates for field re-development and secure technical approval for those plans through Jadestone, partners and host government processes. Evaluate potential new venture opportunities as required, attend data reviews; provide reports, analyses and advice to management. Lead and represent Jadestone for internal and external technical meetings / workshops (Jadestone internal, partner(s), regulatory body, banks, and auditors) Manage technical and personal development of your direct reports through annual and semi-annual appraisals, regular meetings both at the individual and team levels and through active involvement in the various HR initiatives that occur throughout the year. Provide coaching to junior engineers and develop reservoir engineering technical capability. Position Requirements Minimum of a B.Eng. degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline. Minimum twenty (20) years of E&P relevant experience, of which a significant period should have been in reservoir and/or petroleum engineering positions Strong and proven technical background and broad business acumen to support company\'s inorganic growth Track record of analytical and problem-solving skills, with solid technical experience in various aspects of reservoir engineering, both operational and developments sides Experience in the redevelopment of brownfield through the use of IOR and other life extension techniques Experience in the preparation of the Field Development Plan (FDP) documentation for review and approval by the respective stakeholders Candidate Profile Excellent leadership, business, interpersonal, communication and motivational skills. Flexible and pro-active attitude, willing to provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers. Good organizational, multi-tasking capability, and presentation skills and strong command of spoken and written English
