About the role
We are looking for a talented Lead Simulation Engineer - Structural to join our Technology Development team, to support the development of our new products.
You will apply your skills and experience in Structural Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and injection molding to deliver a robust product through the CAE verification process. You will also use analytical techniques to add insight into experimental results, driving early development concepts, and supporting projects with appropriate technology readiness and advancement. In addition, the candidate will be expected to continually improve and develop new techniques and methodologies to expand our capability to the limit.
What you will do:
Assess and highlight the structural integrity of parts to ensure it passes all internal test requirement and injection molding part manufacturability (DFM).
Finite element meshing and model assembly using ANSYS/ANSA/LS-PrePost or other pre-processing tools
Handle drop and explicit simulations with ANSYS/ LS-DYNA
Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve risks/issues
Effectively report and summarise analysis work and communicate findings to members of RDD including senior management.
Drive product designs forward based on sound engineering knowledge and ensure correct decisions are taken at all stages of the design process regarding the structural analysis.
Challenge established CAE methods and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
About you
A bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
Minimum 5 years of working experience
Experienced with FEA tools. Preferable ANSYS, LS-DYNA, ANSA preprocessor, and META post-processor
Experienced with Moldflow/Moldex3D is an advantage
Strong fundamental knowledge of applied solid mechanics, material science, statics, and dynamics.
Exposure to Siemens NX is an advantage
Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Experience with correlation of CAE and Test results
