Job Summary

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Education, contribute to research initiatives, and actively participate in program development at the School of Design and Arts. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in contemporary educational theories, pedagogy, and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and continuously enhance curriculum and instructional materials across various programs and academic levels. Coordinate units of study and deliver teaching activities such as lectures, tutorials (or laboratories), and student assessments to ensure high-quality learning experiences. Provide academic consultation, support, and mentoring to students. Continuously improve personal teaching, training, and mentoring capabilities. Expand and innovate teaching and learning initiatives within the Faculty. Build a robust portfolio supporting research and scholarly activities. Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral research students. Contribute to research training, foster research groups within the Faculty, and engage in collaborative research networks. Uphold high academic and professional standards in all teaching and scholarly activities. Support the administration and ongoing development of the Faculty's academic programs. Engage professionally with industry and business sectors relevant to the Faculty's areas of focus. Demonstrate leadership in academic initiatives, professional activities, and relevant community engagements.

Job Requirements

A PhD in Education or a closely related discipline. Specializations in educational psychology, digital learning, special education, or assessment and evaluation are highly desirable. A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in higher education. A proven research track record in education or related fields. Strong knowledge of current educational trends, learning methodologies, and instructional technologies. Experience in academic program development or managing external educational partnerships is an added advantage. Familiarity with digital learning tools and technologies is preferred. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
