You are required to complete a total working hour of 40 hours/week and 4 hours on one of the Saturdays of the month based on the Saturday Duty Roster. During these hours, you shall be involved in teaching, research, administrative tasks and other academic matters as and when assigned by your supervisor. The distribution of this workload is done according to the Head\'s discretion taking into account other staffing concerns.
To offer students a high-quality learning experience to achieve the goal or qualification for which they are studying.
To teach effectively on a range of courses and programmes in various campuses.
To contribute to the personal development of the students.
To develop course materials, schemes of work, lesson plans etc. and make these available through the college\'s shared information system.
To contribute to the organisational requirements of the Department and the College.
To carry out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to the policies and practices of the institution.
To co-operate with the institution to ensure his/her health and safety, and that of students and colleagues.
To contribute effectively to the team\'s collective responsibility for:- Regular meetings- The induction of new members- Planning, designing and up- Dating the programme and its materials and activities- Delivering the programme- Course, student records and associated administration - recruitment and interviewing of students- The assessment of students- Monitoring student progress- The evaluation of the programme- Identifying personal and professional development needs- Business development and student recruitment activitiesTeaching Duties
To teach on a range of daytime and evening programmes offered by the institution.
To teach on programmes in other College service delivery areas as may be reasonably required.
Tutorial and personal development work with a range of students.
To contribute to the study support services offered at the Learning Centre
To prepare lesson plans for effective delivery of lectures and tutorials
To upload materials on the Learning Management System (LMS) in a timely manner.
To plan and develop assignments and projects for students.
To conduct weekly sessions at the Learning Centre to facilitate group assignments or projects.
To develop formative and summative assessments for the course and contribute to the exam bank.
Curriculum Development
Assist in the planning, design and development of new programmes.
Conduct research on existing programmes in the market to inform the curriculum development team in the planning and design of new programmes.
Works and assist the curriculum development team in ordering books and materials for instructional use.
Conduct other duties assigned in relation to curriculum design and development.
Administrative Duties
Maintain student records and register.
Photocopy handouts for class usage.
Undertake other duties from time to time as the programme head requires.
You shall invigilate examinations scheduled on weekdays, rest days or public holidays.
Standards and Quality Assurance
Support the aims and ethos of the school (expect detail).
Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
Attend team and staff meetings. Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the programme heads.
Other Duties
To undertake liaison, administrative, tutorial, and pastoral duties for one or more groups of full-time or part-time students.
Involvement of academic staff in marketing-related activities including education fairs, open days, and school talks that might require minimal travelling.
To be appraised as part of the institution\'s Appraisal Scheme.
To work cooperatively with the Programme Head and colleagues to achieve the institution\'s objectives.
General
The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.
Requirements
Relevant Psychology qualification with a Masters degree.
Relevant experience teaching external programmes, SACE, AUSMAT or A-Level.
Minimum 3-4 years teaching experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pro-active and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as participate within the team.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, possess a mature attitude and a good team player.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and abilities.
