Job Purpose As an Interior Design Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training in the field of interior design to students at the university level. You will play a crucial role in shaping and developing the next generation of interior designers by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and guidance necessary to succeed in the industry. Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach interior design modules in our Diploma in Interior Design, following the curriculum and syllabus provided by the institution.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities to ensure effective delivery of the course content.
• Conduct lectures, seminars, workshops, and studio sessions to facilitate learning and engage students in practical design projects.
• Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support to students to foster their creative and technical skills.
• Assist students in understanding design principles, theories, and industry practices through demonstrations and practical examples.
• Stay updated with current trends, advancements, and best practices in the field of interior design, and incorporate them into the curriculum when necessary.
• Supervise and evaluate student projects, assignments, and assessments, providing comprehensive feedback and assessment reports.
• Guide students in the selection and effective use of materials, tools, and software relevant to interior design.
• Mentor and advise students on career opportunities, internships, and portfolio development to enhance their professional prospects.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty members, industry professionals, and external stakeholders to enhance the programme\'s relevance and industry connections.
• Participate in curriculum development, course reviews, and programme accreditation processes to ensure the programme meets educational standards and industry requirements.
• Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance teaching skills and maintain subject matter expertise.
• Provide academic and personal support to students, addressing their concerns and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Contribute to academic research, publications, or scholarly activities in the field of interior design, if required by the institution.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A master\'s degree or higher in interior design or a related field is usually required. A bachelor\'s degree with significant industry experience may be considered in some cases.
• Proven experience and expertise in interior design practice, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical skills.
• Minimum 3 years teaching or training experience, preferably at the college or university level, is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using design software and technologies relevant to interior design, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, or similar applications.
• In-depth knowledge of design principles, theories, materials, construction methods, and industry trends in interior design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and approaches to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
• Professional certifications, memberships, or affiliations related to interior design or education, such as LAM, MIID or MBOT, or similar, are advantageous.
