We are seeking to appoint a teaching and research focus Lecturer to join the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences on a contract basis.

The role holder will be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and will be expected to make a significant contribution to research.

Your key responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Deliver high quality teaching and assessment with a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.

Able to teach the following units (i.e. digital content creation, professional writing and analytical units):

\xc3\x98 NETS2000 Web Media

\xc3\x98 NETS1000 Digital Culture and Everyday Life

\xc3\x98 NETS2001 Writing on Web

\xc3\x98 NETS3010 Online Games, Play and Gamification

\xc3\x98 NETS1000 Web Communications

\xc3\x98 COMS3001 Media and Communications Capstone (Final-year student projects)

\xc2\xb7 Supervise undergraduate and post graduate students\xe2\x80\x99 research projects/studies.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct high quality research, attract competitive grants and maintain an active record of publications.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute significantly to academic service, collegiality and engagement and external community engagement activities relevant to the discipline/profession.

Selection Criteria:

\xc2\xb7 A PhD in a relevant discipline related to Digital Media/ Communication/ Media/ Internet Studies.

\xc2\xb7 Teaching experience at tertiary level and familiar with online teaching tools.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated high teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery, with an emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.

\xc2\xb7 A strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practise relevant to the discipline.

\xc2\xb7 Industrial experience and significant involvement with industry or professional groups is highly regarded.

\xc2\xb7 A high level of English verbal and written communication.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to supervise postgraduate (Masters by research and PhD) students.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to develop proposals for research funding, design research projects, lead and develop a research team.

\xc2\xb7 An established record of research output and personal achievements with recent refereed publications in media and communication studies.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated evidence of establishing and maintaining effective collaboration and reciprocal relationship with local, national or international activities in industry, community, organisations or government.
