Job Description
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type of hiring: 1-3 years Contract
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head of Legal with the review and negotiation of agreements/contracts.
- Support the Head of Legal where necessary.
- Support the Legal Manager in other areas as needed, such as insurance, corporate secretarial, procurement technical clarification, procurement post-award issues, external relations, and investor relations.
- Provide risk assessments and legal implications of business choices involving Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs), Joint Operating arrangements (JOA), and other upstream arrangements.
- Ensure that all agreements and contracts entered into by the company are on the most favorable terms possible.
- Ensure that all operational and general insurance policies are in place, as needed.
- Manage outside lawyers, insurance brokers, underwriters, and corporate secretarial scope as required.
- Minimum 10 years experience (post admission to the Malaysian Bar).
- Must be analytical and able to work independently.
- A team player, communications and leadership skills.
- Possess good negotiation skills.
- Fluent in oral & written English.
- Experienced in oil and gas industry.
